Dark in the kitchen

This kitchen is so beautiful.  What do you think of the dark finish?  I tend to lean towards a light or white kitchen more often than not.  I love the stools too!

What do you think are you a light or a dark kitchen fan?

I don't think I would actually do it for myself, but I think its a cool look and in recent years have seen some drop dead gorgeous kitchens with dark cabinetry. Its all in the lighting and other materials!

I luv the moody & higher contrast elements that deeper toned spaces bring. I personally find them far more interesting. Even in a kitchen, I find that holds true, if not even truer yet. I do have a flip side that also luvs the purity & airiness that a white kitchen brings. However I also still want a deep toned shot present in them (either in floors or counters or walls). Once again more interesting than all white & a bit less sterile or cold in feel.

The house we're in now couldn't pull off a dark kitchen as it sits in the northeast corner of the structure. But you better believe if I ever have a light filled kitchen, it'll be all moody & cozy!

I guess it always comes down to the house style , location and available natural light. I'm currently dreaming of a black kitchen for my home build but I have lots of light and sunshine....

This is an absolutely stunning working kitchen. The functionality of dark woods, in both hiding nicks and scratches, and preserving the integrity of workmanship for longer periods of time, makes this kitchen a dream. I love it contrasted with lighter elements. And yes, the stools are retro-industrial-beautiful.
